Marking International Women’s Day With Heartfelt Appreciation

On 8 March, the METEOR Group celebrated International Women’s Day, which is dedicated to honouring women’s achievements and advocating gender equity. The organisation took the opportunity to show appreciation for the hard work and dedication of its female staff, with male Group Leadership Team members and Learning Centre Directors distributing heart-shaped chocolates to all female staff at Menara OUM and Learning Centres across Malaysia.

The celebration was a heart-warming gesture that highlighted the importance of recognising and valuing the contributions of women at the workplace. It was touching to see our leaders taking the time to show their appreciation and acknowledge the vital role that women play.

“As we celebrate International Women’s Day, I want to specifically thank all the women in our organisation for the invaluable contributions they make to our success. You bring unique perspectives, experiences, and insights that enrich our discussions and decision-making processes. You inspire and motivate us with your dedication, professionalism, and passion.”, said Professor Ahmad Izanee Awang, Group Leadership Team member and OUM President/Vice-Chancellor.

Our Chief of People and Culture, En Muhammad Bazli Abdul Aziz, echoed these sentiments, emphasising the need to create a workplace that is appreciative and supportive of all employees. He said, “We are proud to celebrate International Women’s Day and recognise the contributions of our women staff. You inspire and motivate us with your dedication, professionalism, and passion.”

International Women’s Day celebrates the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. It is also a day to reflect on the progress that has been made towards gender equity and to renew our commitment to creating a more just and equal world. The Group’s celebration of the Day is a reminder that gender equity is a goal that we must all work towards, regardless of gender.
